I began my career in 1998 after graduating from the college of hair design. I worked as an assistant for 6 months in a salon downtown Lincoln. We traveled to New York, LA, Chicago, and Minneapolis to attend several hair shows. Believe it or not you had to travel to get good education!  I worked downtown for about 15 years and then decided to build a salon next to my home while raising my children. Having my salon at home was a huge blessing. During that time my niece Came to work with me and my daughters soon after decided they wanted to join!I decided that expanding would give us the opportunity to all work together.

In November 2021, we opened Rooted Salon and Spa. Our salon is an open-concept space, and I am truly privileged to work alongside a team of talented, business-minded women who support and uplift one another every day.

In May 2026, we expanded again by remodeling our salon basement into The Rooted Barber, a dedicated barber space managed by my son-in-law, Mitchell. What began as my personal career has grown into a true family business.

I feel incredibly grateful to work every day with my Rooted co-workers, my daughters, my niece, and my son-in-law, building something together that we are all passionate about.
